piece dated 1892, in original box from "H. Pidduck & Sons Goldsmiths,
Hanley", with a bloodstone tip, 4"– from Royal Doulton family. This is
engraved as presented to "William Millward by the Throwers, turners,
handlers and friends of Messrs Doulton & Co Burslam. The throwers, turners,
handlers were a trade union type organization for factory workers in those
days. Doulton were a massive company and Royal Doulton pottery and ceramics
is very popular still today.

Fremantle for winning the Oxford Mile race at Oxford Univ., 1888". From
the Today University Magazine article by Richard Holt,
2005: "The Amateur Athletic Association" was founded... at the Randolph
Hotel, Oxford, 24 April 1880. For over a century, the AAA held sway
over English athletics and and provided a model for amateur sporting
organizations elsewhere in Britain and around the world, including the
Olympic Movement." This clock was awarded at Oxford only 8 years after
this historic meeting. The base is 8" by 5-5/8" and it is 10" high.

Internationale 1900 H.C. White & Co", total length 12-1/2". Patent
numbers for several countries are on the back as well as the patent date
February 1896. The Exposition was held in Paris, France, and Art Nouveau
was very popular there. Talking films and escalators were also featured
there.
