BLACK bracelet with amber colored centers, marked inside one link "LBMDJ", relaxed size 7" and 1-3/4" wide. It looks like jet and amber but is actually plastic and/or resin. A kind French lady tells me that the initials stand for, "Laboratoire Biologie Marine Daniel Jouvance", which was a company that made cosmetics in the 1980s, as well as today. The bracelets were given as gifts to good clients, and they are made of plastic. Even though it is more contemporary than it looks, it is lovely to wear with the dramatic high-contrast coloring!  View   #V37257

VEST made of 30 rhinestone brooch-shaped elements attached with golden chain, said to be from the exclusive French Room of Hess Brothers of Allentown, Pennsylvania, circa 1960s. This is difficult to photograph, but the brooch elements are lovely and remind me a bit of Schreiner brooches, but they are not signed. Each has an art glass center surrounded by colorful rhinestones in beautiful tones.  This fits like a vest with elements both front and back, and each brooch-like element is 2-1/3" by 2-1/8" in size. This lays better on a fabric with some weight, like a sweater for instance. In over 20 years in the business, I have never seen one like it!  View   View   View   View   View  #Y38851 PEACOCK EYE necklace set in five silver O's, a 16" long necklace with 7/8" wide O's. Now here is an unusual thing... on the left is a signed Nettie Rosenstein Asian lady brooch circa 1960.

But on the right, looking like her cousin, is a pendant marked "Germany sterling" on the back, and just a bit larger than the Rosenstein brooch.

The owner says, "... this is a remarkable piece, one you are not likely to find another. Since Nettie didn't patent her designs, nor did she leave historical information on her career, designs and alike, ascertaining additional information regarding this fantastical piece may just have to continue to be a mystery..."

PLEASE NOTE: Regretfully, it is no longer possible to respond to individual questions regarding jewelry history, identification or value, or to offer written or verbal appraisals or opinions. The demand for this kind of information is absolutely too overwhelming for one dealer to fill.
I love jewelry, but appraising and selling are two entirely different businesses, and I choose selling and research as my business.

Instead, articles are added on a regular basis to JEWEL CHAT on line Magazine, a wonderful reference for  information on many makers and styles of vintage jewelry.
