    SCHREINER jewelry was made from about 1939-1977. Known for their quality stones and unusual color combinations, one trademark of Schreiner jewelry is the reverse setting of rhinestones (point up instead of point down) and the hook and eye back construction. Large, colorful and eye-catching, these are favorites of most collectors.
 

 

           
   SCHREINER unsigned aqua opaque ruffle rhinestones 3-1/8" by 2-7/8" brooch and 1-1/3" earrings with rosy upside-down mounted rhinestone accents and marbled green cabochons all set in gold tone, excellent condition, circa 1960s.    KRAMER clear rhinestones "snowflake" brooch. This looks identical to the red and blue rhinestone brooch #Y4091 at left, and has the same hook-and-eye back construction in the style of a Schreiner as well. But this is marked Kramer of New York. Elizabeth says it is flatter and less dimensional than most Schreiner brooches.
