   A fancy hat, a lacy collar and a sentimental locket compliment her costume.

  This sentimental locket and collar may have contained a photo and lock of her sweetheart's hair. She holds a carte de visite in her hand and also wears a pair of jet bracelets, one on each wrist,  and a brooch.    View


Is there a more classic piece of jewelry than a locket? Associated with the remembrance someone special, it is a gift of love in the form of jewelry. Lockets are found in almost every jewelry catalogue no matter what the date. The material from which they are made may change slightly with fashions of the era, but their popularity continues from generation to generation.

Athal", hallmarked Birmingham 1884 and maker "J.H.". The locket is 1-3/4" by 1-1/4", the chain is 17", and the loop 1/2". The chain and loop are hallmarked as well, and the chain has a lovely feel.
