HOBE JEWELRY
1927 to 1992 in America

     The name HOBE is synonymous with quality, especially in their earlier pieces. Originating in the 1920's, their 1930-50's years are my personal favorites. Their wire-worked designs and fabulous stones create a unique old-world style. When they combine objects into their jewelry, such as in the ivory elephant brooch below, they take creativity to a new high.

HOBE aqua and clear unfoiled rhinestones ring in a silvery setting with delicate looped wire work so typical of Hobe, size 6-1/8, 1-1/4" by 1-1/8". There are scratches on the aqua rhinestone visible upon close examination, but the stone is brilliant to the naked eye. The frame and closure clip are in mint condition, and the body has a tag inside which says, "Bags by Josef, hand beaded in U.S.A.".
